Vacancy Database Search Help |
This search engine has been created to help California's Regional Center personnel and the general public find empty developmental services beds for clients with specific needs. This search engine is designed to deliver results based on a variety of choices. There are two data choice columns on the search page. You must choose at least one from each section of Column 1 (left). Column 2 (right) is to refine your search if you are getting too many results. |

Choices (Column 1)
The left column (Column 1) is for County, Bed Type and Gender. At least one choice must be made from each section. The first selection box is for County. You may choose 'All' from the County dropdown box, or you may choose any individual county. You may also highlight and choose multiple counties by holding the Control key down on your keyboard as you select different counties. Clicking the chosen county again will unchoose it. The Bed Type, or Licensure Category, contains four category choices. The default selection is ICF-DD/H. If you need a different category, you can unselect ICF/DD-H and choose another category. If you need more results, choosing more than one bed licensure type will help. At least one bed type must be checked. The choices are ICF/DD, ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N, and ICF/DD-CN. For an explanation of bed types, click here. [The last category, ICF/DD-CN, is a pilot category. As of this writing (02-12-02) no facilities in this pilot category are operational, but we expect them to be added near the end of the first quarter of the year. For more information regarding the pilot program, click here] Below the bed type is a check box. Checking this box will return results from all facilities in the county or counties meeting your criteria, regardless of whether they have any listed vacancies. This can be useful for contacting the Placement Coordinator regarding future placements or for seeing what's available in certain areas. The next section, Gender, is self explanatory. If you are looking for beds for both male and female clients, you may check both boxes. |

Optional
choices (Column 2)
It is not necessary to check any of the boxes in Column 2 (Age Range, Behavior or Mobility) unless you want to refine your search. You may want to refine your search if you have a specific need to place an individual based on their age, and/or behavior, and/or mobility. You may choose as many of the selections as necessary. The fewer selections checked, the narrower your search results will be. For example, if no boxes are checked in the Age Range section, and one box is checked in Behaviors, you will see results containing all age ranges but only the behavior you chose. An example of a very narrow search would be checking only one box in Age Range, only one box in Behavior, and only one box in Mobility. An example of the broadest search possible would be checking no boxes in column 2. |
